Thank You

As the first month of our brand new year comes to an end - wow! already? - I just wanted to take a moment before the year gets too far along to again thank all of you for your thoughts, emails and prayers for my family and me. You may have heard me talk about my fondness of Disney World (Old school: I've never been to anything added to Disney since Epcot!) - My dad sent me an old photo of a newspaper clipping of when I was chosen as the one-millionth visitor through the turnstile at the "Preview Center" of the (then) forthcoming Walt Disney World... Yep, that's me up there in the old photo about 3 1/2 feet ago along with my parents, Mickey,Pluto and Goofy... We were even on the news with Walter Cronkite! That is to say they had this picture on the screen while Mr. Cronkite talked about us... cool huh?! We were the first family to get an all-expense paid vacation to Disney World...so - in a sense - you could say I was the 'first' to say to the camera - "I'm going to Disney World!"

When I showed this around the office, I got a couple of looks from some of the younger staff, like: "Wow, you're OLDER than Disney World?" - (ahem, Jessica) But anyway, I share this with you because I'm sure you can imagine how wonderful a time that must have been that day for me and my family... we'll never forget it! That, and my dad sent the photo to me, and I was updating the blog anyway - so - no, but really - I truly had this need to share with you how seeing this old photo reminded me of how wonderful life can be (in spite of anything else)... being on the air with you now and having been made to feel like king of the day way back then. Kind of makes me feel the same way.

All this is just to say how much of a privilege I feel it is to serve you and the warmth and genuine kindness I've experienced from you since becoming the Midday Man has made me feel like one in a million all over again. I hope all of you have a wonderful 2008 and as Mickey always says, "May all your wishes come true!" ---

Love ya mean it!

Lloyd
