It's hard to believe that in less than a month, 39 people from 9 different states will meet June 23rd in Miami FLA to head for Santiago, Dominican Republic. Most people I know, know that I'm going on the trip and the most common question I get whenever I run into one of them is; "Are you getting excited?" ... Well, YEH! I mean, I've been 'excited' since I found out I was going some 3 months or so ago and it hasn't let up since. In fact, I'm trying not to let my imagination of the whole trip preoccupy my every thought - now that we're less than 4 weeks away from wheels-up.
It's hard to think about much else right now, since, as I write this entry, I'm waiting for a phone call for when my prescription will be ready for one of my medicines I'm choosing to take (for the prevention of Malaria)... and I need to decide, real quickly, what morning/day I want to head over to the Immunization Center to get 3 other 'suggested' shots. The center only takes walk-ins and it's totally first come - first serve. I'm hoping once I get my 'meds' taken care of, my anxiousness about the trip will subside a bit. And NO, I'm not talking about when I get meds to calm my anxiousness :) -- I'm just saying, that will be one less thing to 'worry' about taking care of...
So, it's not that I'm not wanting to look forward to the trip - it's more like - I'm ready to go now! To quote the popular folk/rock singer Tom Petty; "It's the waiting that's the hardest part." And that would best describe where "I'm at"...at the moment. So, am I excited?
Um......... YES!!! ---- (MG)
