The waiting is the hardest part...

I'm inoculated, got the passport - need to fill a couple of duffel bags and ... WAIT. With less than two weeks remaining until our DomRep trip... I can honestly say, the waiting, is the hardest part. All my imaginations, my fears, my elations about going... have nothing to do except churn away inside me while I... wait. But, with just about all of the 'logistical' things taken care of; i.e... travel arrangements, shots/meds, donations for the kids in DomRep etc... I'm now concentrating on preparing my mind and body for the trip.

This will include prayer, bible study, exercise and meditation - which really helps when my imagination starts running wild! My pastor shared with me something he does before he prays, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it - but I never really did this before... Take a moment or two, before you pray, to realize whom you are praying to.. the awesomeness of whom you are about to go before in prayer... What a wonderful bit of advice, that I believe - will help me, not only through the hard part of waiting a couple weeks - but better communicate with God.

I'm learning and experiencing so many different things since agreeing to go along with Mission of Mercy to DomRep - and I haven't even step foot there yet. This is going to be really good. (MG)
